Due to the snow and ice storm that struck Seattle on January 16, 2012, the TENS Monthly Meeting previously scheduled for that evening has been rescheduled to the third Monday in March, the normal date for our March Monthly Meeting. The meeting registrations for all members and guests who registered for the January meeting have been moved to the March meeting. TENS Stories
By Arnie Williams
As a member of TENS I appreciate the openness and willingness of the members to impart knowledge and experience to one another. My own story is a good example.
With an 18-year background in franchising, I am in a niche area of business which many people know very little about. Franchising encompasses over 120 different industries in 900,000 locations across the US, constitutes over $880 billion of the total US private sector economy directly and $2.3 trillion indirectly, and creates over 11 million US jobs.
At TENS meetings, I met a TENS member who has an international franchise background. When we talked, I learned about several differences in his franchising experience compared to mine, which has been focused here in the states. That discussion has expanded the range of ideas that I bring to new opportunities.
This is just one of many stories that are the result of the TENS organization’s welcoming and generous camaraderie. I have developed an entire new circle of business associates and personal relationships that I can turn to when needed. The rewards of participating in TENS last the length of our careers and beyond.
